Chaque galerie poss\u00e8de sa propre personnalit\u00e9, une signature, un style, des caract\u00e9ristiques uniques.<\/p>\n

La Galerie Richelieu se distingue \u00e0 plusieurs \u00e9gards. Elle est situ\u00e9e dans le quartier Villeray, rue Saint-Denis, angle Gounod, au nord du March\u00e9 Jean-Talon et au sud de l’autoroute m\u00e9tropolitaine, un quartier que Colette Richelieu, la propri\u00e9taire connaissait d\u00e9j\u00e0. La proximit\u00e9 de la station de m\u00e9tro Jarry favorise grandement l’acc\u00e8s aux visiteurs. La galerie se distingue aussi par sa superficie, plus de 900 m2 (10,000 pied carr\u00e9), qui en fait la plus grande galerie d’art \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, plus pr\u00e8s d’un mus\u00e9e que d’une galerie traditionnelle. La galerie regroupe originalement trois adresses civiques ce qui laisse deviner de l’importance de la superficie.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Cette grande galerie est divis\u00e9e en diff\u00e9rents <<espaces>> tels que l’Espace Branch\u00e9, Papier, Aquarelle, Grand Ma\u00eetres, etc. On y voit aussi des Ayotte, Carson,Cosgrove, et Riopelle en plus des tableaux d’artistes daujourd’hui.<\/p>\n

Le design int\u00e9rieur contemporain remonte \u00e0 quelque ann\u00e9e d\u00e9j\u00e0 et il a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u par Bernard P\u00e9pin, de la firme Atmosph\u00e8re D\u00e9sign, selon les pr\u00e9ceptes du Feng-Shui chinois.<\/p>\n

Au cours des 32 derniers mois, \u00e0 travailler sept jours sur sept, la galerie a organis\u00e9 102 \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui ont attir\u00e9 plus de 12 000 personnes dont la pr\u00e9sence moyenne a \u00e9t\u00e9 d’une dur\u00e9e de quatre heures, ce qui est exceptionnel pour ce type d’\u00e9v\u00e8nement dans une galerie d’art. La galerie Richelieu a d’ailleurs remport\u00e9 le premier Prix du commerce de l’ann\u00e9e 2002 lors du Concours qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois en entrepreneurship du Montr\u00e9al m\u00e9tropolitain.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Born in Montreal in 1957, Charles Carson first discovered his passion for painting in 1970. He calls his personal style \u00ab\u00a0Carsonism,\u00bb and his solo show at Galerie Richelieu is a treat for the eyes. His love for nature and his respect for the environnement are beautifully interpreted through imaginative canvases, full of vidid vibrant colours.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

At first glance, the work appears, totally abstrat, and yes, there are a series of mosaic images that are intricate abstracts but it is the others that blow you away, as you examine everything else that is going on inside his multidimensional paintings.<\/p>\n

Usually behing a hazy fog like appearance, we discover luscious landscapes. In some of the canvases, we come upon tantalizing fruits, in others, we are confronted with wonderful underwater marine life, and then in another group, we find ourselves among majestic, feathery birds and wise old owls. Each painting gives full reign to his imaginative process.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

In his extensive travels, Carson has studied the art of the great masters. There are influences of van Gogh, C\u00e9zanne and Turner, but Carsonism has its own distinct interpretation. Prices start as low as $950. and reach up to $ 85,000.00 for his largest acrylic \u2013 the amazing R\u00e9flexions marines.<\/p>\n

The gallery, located at 7903 St. Denis, is a bit off the beaten track, but this pulsating show merits a trip. The exhibition is on until the end of December.
